1) What is the difference between a custom home and a spec home?

When you choose a custom home, you can choose or create your own floor plan and specify materials for your roof, windows, doors, tile, counter tops, and paint. A spec home is a home built by the builder with pre-determined selections that you do not get to personalize during the construction process. Currently, we are only building spec homes that are available for pre-sale. All of these homes are listed on our website under the "Avaialble Homes" tab. They are complete with a brochure to outline the building specifications, as well as the interior design selections.

2) What is the cost of a new construction home in East Texas?

What you pay for a home developed by Hunt Custom Homes depends entirely on the size of your home and your location. Our smaller entry-level homes range from $150 to $170 per heated and cooled ft. Our mid-sized homes range from $175-$185 per heated and cooled ft. Where the larger builds, in more premium locations range from $210 and up per heated and cooled ft.

3) How long does it take to build a new construction home?

In most cases, a new construction home built by the Hunt Custom Homes team should take approximately 6 months to build. In the current market times build times are subject to be longer than 6 months based on material and labor availability. 

4) Do we choose from a list of floor plans or do we have to purchase those separately from another entity?

Our team provides floor plans that are set to each lot we have access to. The floorplans are available for you to see and choose from under our "Available Homes" tab. 

5) When should we get the financing for our new custom home figured out?

To build a new custom home in one of our subdivisions, you will need to acquire pre-approval for the final cost. We will finance the construction of the build, so your lender would begin their due diligence about 60 days prior to home completion. 

6) Where does Hunt Custom Homes build new homes?

Our primary locations for custom homes in East Texas are in Tyler, Flint and Chandler Texas.

7) Why should I build a new home with Hunt Custom Homes?

Hunt Custom Homes has an incredible team of professionals to help create a custom built home on a spec budget. We strive to continually build quality homes that will stand the test of time. We pride ourselves on being a reputable, local builder! 

8) Do I need a real estate agent to buy from Hunt Custom Homes?

You do not need a real estate agent to purchase a pre-sale spec home with us. However, the majority of our homes are sold by realtors. The cost of your home will be the same with or without a real-estate agent.

9) What if I want to see some custom homes that are currently under construction?

Feel free to look on our website for current homes under "Available Homes". If the home is currently under construction there will be a time frame listed (i.e. Available July). If the home has not begun construction it will say "Coming Soon".  You are also able to see some of our previous projects by looking at the "Our Work" tab.
